At our setting your child can explore the delights of being a child whilst discovering that learning for life is fun and fascinating. We aim to provide a setting that is an extension from home which will support your child to grow, and develop in an atmosphere of warmth, security and care.
At our Curiosity Approach setting, we don’t use plastic toys, academic resources or have brightly coloured environments.

Here at Bestwood Park nursery we use REAL authentic resources and loose parts over plastic manufactured toys. We’ve moved away from plastic resources such as tea-sets and cars garages. We have noticed that these types of resources get dropped and mindlessly thrown and left lying around. Plastic is virtually indestructible and rarely breaks. it lasts for decades but what does that teach the children? We need to empower children to take risks, to practice new skills and allow children to make decisions and learn to handle breakables whilst supported by confident educators. This is why we use REAL over plastic as part of our ethos
Routines and Rituals are daily events that we like to emphasize and make special for children to stop, unwind and be in the moment with. The day can quickly catch up with us and before we know it one day is rolling into the next. Secure routines and rituals help form structure in a child's life which in turn strengthens their ability to focus and develop. Ensuring your child has a secure routine around important periods such as mealtimes and sleep times is vital and we can help you develop this here at nursery.
