Skip to content Bestwood Park Nursery have been operating since 2015. We have worked so hard over the years to build up a positive reputation in our community. We pride ourselves on providing flexible, extensive early education & Childcare facilities to families with children from three months to 12 years of age.
Company directors, Shona and Eleigh, take on an active role in the nursery and they are highly passionate about supporting parents and careers by providing safe, high-quality childcare for their children. Bestwood Park nursery is a safe and secure setting where friendly and warm staff provide a rich and stimulating environment within caring and loving relationships, giving the children the confidence to enjoy and learn about the world around them.
At our Curiosity Approach setting, we don’t use plastic toys, academic resources or have brightly coloured environments. When we bombard the environment with too much colour, artificial lighting, visual noise children can become overstimulated.
They struggle to concentrate and deeply engage because the brain is already fending off all the messages to the senses. We don’t use plastic toys instead we use open ended resources, loose parts and those intelligent resources that allow children to follow their own learning styles, imagination and creativity. We use authentic resources, recycled materials making us sustainable, saving the planet and saving money but most importantly saving play at the same time!
Children don’t need us to disguise academics into play materials. They don’t need us to buy resources that ‘teach’ Colour matching, number recognition and counting. Children will learn these skills through Play and everyday experiences
The nest is our room dedicated to babies and toddlers. Its calm and cosy and contains different areas to support all areas of learning. We are a free flow setting so the children are able to explore both indoors and outdoors whenever they please
Our Preschool is for children aged 3 -5years . The Preschool is again, free-flow, and we follow the lead of the children in terms of activities. No day is the same and each day, we encourage the children to be curious and learn from real life experiences in both of our rooms
Our out of school club provides breakfast, afterschool and holiday club for children up to 12 years old. Please enquire with us about the local primary schools that we cover.
At Bestwood Park Nursery we have a brilliant soft play frame that the children love to explore as part of their gross-motor development.
We have a beautiful sensory room that the children really benefit from when they need some calming, quiet time.
